Phoubane Guesthouse

Behind what used to be the market and set right on the river, Phoubane has one of the best settings in Vang Vieng, with a balconied restaurant jutting out into the river, a full clear view of the mountains, and overlooking the precarious wooden toll bridge spanning the river. The restaurant is reasonably priced with a decent array of menu choices, but doesn t serve late into the evening for fear of upsetting the guests. Seating is on tables and chairs rather than floor cushions, favoured by a number other establishments here. What was once a large well tended garden, has now been filled with compacted earth where a new deluxe villa bungalow complex is being erected. These sit in front of some of the conjoined wooden bungalows which are set a little back from the river. They are set in groups of thouree which share a balcony overlooking the garden and the river. Rooms are clean but sparse. All rooms have bathourooms with hot shower, while others have access to shared bathourooms.
