🇮🇷🇸🇾🇮🇶 Iran Strikes Israeli Mossad & CIA Headquarters in Kurdistan Region of Iraq
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced its deliberate targeting of what it claims to be “espionage headquarters and terrorist gatherings” in both Syria and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The motivation behind this action is cited as a response to two recent terrorist attacks that took place in Kerman earlier this month.
The IRGC, based in Iran, revealed that it employed ballistic missiles to strike “the headquarters of terrorist groups in the region.” According to the statement issued by the IRGC, the attack was a direct response to the “terrorist crimes recently committed by Iran’s enemies.” The Revolutionary Guard specified that their targets included “gatherings of terrorists linked to the terrorist operations carried out in Iran recently.”
In a subsequent statement, the Revolutionary Guard confirmed that one of the primary targets was “the main headquarters of the Israeli Mossad and the American CIA in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.” This particular action was declared in retaliation for what the IRGC perceives as the Israeli occupation entity’s involvement in the assassination of leaders within the Revolutionary Guard and the Axis of Resistance. The statement explained that the targeted Mossad headquarters serves as “the center for developing espionage operations and planning terrorist operations in the region, especially against Iran.”
Reports from Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Syria indicated explosions in Aleppo, suggesting missile strikes in the southeastern part of the city. Simultaneously, the correspondent in Iraq reported at least seven explosions in Erbil within the Kurdistan region, with sirens reported at the American consulate. Security sources, cited by Reuters, reported a halt in air traffic at Erbil Airport following the explosions.
