• Mount Putuo or Putuo Island, an island with a small mountain, a major Buddhist temple and several monasteries on it, near Ningbo in Zhejiang province
• Two other temples named after that one:
• Southern Putuo Temple, centuries old, in Xiamen#Around_the_university|Xiamen in Fujian province
• Northern Putuo Temple, recently built in Jingyuetan National Forest Park in Jilin province
• Shanghai/Putuo|Putuo District, an area of Shanghai
