eHalal GroupThe British Maritime Trade Operations Department (UKMTO) has announced that it is looking into reports suggesting a potential explosion in the Bab al-Mandab area near the Yemeni port of Mocha.
According to a statement from UKMTO, the department has received information regarding a possible incident in the vicinity of Bab al-Mandab, situated off the Yemeni port of Mocha.
“UKMTO has received a report of an incident in the vicinity of the Bab El Mandeb, 30nm [nautical miles] South of port Mokha, Yemen,” the British maritime agency revealed in a post on X.
While refraining from disclosing additional details, UKMTO stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the nature of the incident.
“Master reports a possible explosion in the water 2NM off one of the vessels [sic] quarters. Authorities are investigating,” the agency explained.
Following the reports, Israeli media quickly commented on the incident, suggesting that “the Yemenis are not stopping.” This remark is believed to allude to the ongoing operations conducted by the Yemeni Armed Forces in solidarity with Gaza.
