California is the most populous state in the US, but you wouldn't suspect it from traveling through most of this region, which is generally wild and remote.

Travel to Shasta Cascades

One Rail travel in the Amtrak train service travels through the Cascades region. The Coast Starlight runs between Los Angeles and Seattle, Washington, stopping in the Cascades towns of Redding and Dunsmuir, plus several towns in Oregon's Cascades region.

 Greyhound Bus serves Alturas, Burney, and Susanville. There is Greyhound service in Redding, Red Bluff, and Weed along the I-5 corridor between Portland and Sacramento.

Redding/Red Bluff and Chico area are served by United Express.
