Solta is an island in the Split-Dalmatia county of Croatia, just to the west of the much larger island of Brac. Both are near the city of Split on the mainland.

Solta Halal Travel Guide
Šolta belongs to the middle Dalmatian island, in the central part of the Adriatic Sea, near its eastern coast. Šolta is 360 kilometers away from the coast of Marunska lagoon (the most drawn in part of the Adriatic), and 390 kilometers from the Strait of Otranto (the border between the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Sea) in the southeast. Šolta is 185 kilometers from the Italian coast, 10.7 kilometers from the Croatian mainland (Uranjica) and 15 kilometers (9 nautical miles) from Split.
Šolta is 19 kilometers long (from the promontory Livka in the east of the island opened on Brač to the promontory Obinu‘ki bok in the west). The largest width is from the peninsula Rata in the eastern part of Nečujam to the peninsula in the western part of the cove of Senj and it is 4.9 km. The island’s coastline is 73.1 kilometers long. Beside the main island, Šolta also consists of 7 islets outside the west port of Maslinica.
Travel to Solta
A ferry operated by Jadrolinija leaves frequently from Split for just 33 kn per way (Aug 2018). The departure times vary by month and can be checked on here]. Most ferries arrive in Rogac|Rogač, in the center of the island.
How to get around in Solta
By bus
Upon arrival of the ferry, buses leave for different destinations on the island, including Maslinica .
By bike or scooter
Multiple agencies offer scooter and bike rentals:
- Rogač: Bikes (75-100kn/day) and scooters (120-140kn/day), uphill from the port, at Stari Put 46
What to see in Solta
Maslinica and Stomorska are the two most popular towns on the island. Both have a harbor with boats and yachts, beautiful old buildings in Mediterranean style, and a number of souvenir shops and restaurants. The picturesque view invites you to stroll around and take pictures.
The water off the coast is very clear and of bright blue color during sunshine hours.

Best things to do in Solta
Ride a bike around the island, go snorkeling or swimming, hike along the coast.
In August and the fig trees that can be found anywhere on the island carry their ripe fruits. Just stop at any tree and fill your stomach with this free gift of nature.
Muslim Friendly Shopping in Solta
The largest supermarket on the island seems to be Studenac in Grohote, directly by the primary street junction. Here you'll find any groceries you're looking for.
There are small convenience stores in the other towns, but don't expect much choice. They're really just good for buying drinks and a few Snacks.
