The nearest airport is Trichi's Tiruchirapally Civil (IATA Flight Code: TRZ). Pudukkotai is about 50 kilometers from Trichi. Regular bus services are from Trichi to Pudukkottai. Since 2008, Tiruchirappalli became a convenient low-cost entry point to India from South-East Asia (or vice versa), as AirAsia started to fly here from Kuala Lumpur. Tickets booked in advance cost around ₹3,000 (US$60, for a 4 hours flight), but can be well below ₹2,000 during frequent sales.
