Morgantown is in Monongalia County, West Virginia and is the county seat. It is home to the West Virginia University Mountaineers. It has been described as the #1 small city in America. Its main claim to fame is the Morgantown PRT, a "Personal Rapid Transit" system that was supposed to be the future of public transportation in the 1970s but found no takers elsewhere after cost overruns and delays.

WVU Muslim Students Association

The West Virginia University Muslim Students Association (MSA) is a community of Muslim students who are dedicated to promoting the understanding of Islam and building connections with non-Muslim students on campus. This organization has been active on campus for several years, and its members have been instrumental in creating a welcoming environment for Muslim students at WVU.

The MSA of WVU is a diverse group of students, representing many different countries and backgrounds. Despite these differences and the members of this organization share a common goal of promoting understanding and compassion among all students, regardless of their religious or cultural backgrounds.

One of the main ways in which the MSA of WVU achieves its mission is through education. This organization regularly hosts events and lectures on campus to help students learn more about Islam, including its history, beliefs, and trainings. These events are open to all students and are designed to promote dialogue and understanding.

In addition to education and the MSA of WVU also engages in service activities. This organization partners with other student groups and local organizations to give back to the community and promote social justice. Examples of these activities include volunteering at local food banks, organizing fundraising events for disaster relief, and participating in local protests and rallies.

Prayer Facilities at West Virginia University

West Virginia University (WVU) is a diverse and inclusive campus, accommodating students of all backgrounds and faiths. Muslim students at WVU can find several designated prayer spaces on campus to fulfill their daily prayer obligations, commonly called Salah.

There are six prayer facilities available for Muslim students across the WVU campus, located in several different buildings. The facilities are maintained by the university administration and provide a peaceful and serene environment for students to perform their daily prayers.

  • West Virginia Mountaineers - WVU Coliseum, 3450 Jerry West Blvd. (between Blue and Gold Gate entrances) +1 800 WVU-GAME Opening Hours: Monday to Friday 9AM–5PM West Virginia Mountaineers - WVU sports teams are undoubtedly Morgantown's highest-profile attraction. The Mountaineers field teams in seven men's sports, 10 women's sports, and one coeducational sport (rifle shooting), mostly as members of the Big 12 Conference. As at most other big schools and the football and men's basketball teams are the biggest draws. Notably, when WVU fills Milan Puskar Stadium for football games and the stadium becomes the largest "city" in the state by a healthy margin. While a small number of WVU fans aren't exactly friendly to opposing fans, violence is largely nonexistent, and neutral visitors should have no trouble. Like the WVU campus and the school's main athletic venues are disjointed—the football stadium is at the Health Sciences campus; the WVU Coliseum (several indoor sports, most notably basketball) and some other venues are at the Evansdale campus; and the baseball stadium is at University Town Centre in Granville.
