Seremban train station (Rawang-Seremban Line) (front), Seremban - Seremban Train Station]]

Seremban is the state capital of Negeri Sembilan, on the West Coast (Malaysia)|west coast of peninsular Malaysia.

Seremban Halal Travel Guide

Like most other cities on the West Coast of Malaysia, Seremban is populated by citizens of Malay, Chinese and Indian ethnicity (called separate "races" in Malaysia). Major languages spoken in the city are Malay (the national language) and Tamil, Cantonese (especially by the elder generation), Mandarin (spoken more by the younger generation)

Seremban is seldom regarded as a main tourist attraction. It is located between Melaka (70 km south) and Kuala Lumpur (60 km north).

The nearest airport to Seremban is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), which is about 30km north of Seremban (about 30 minutes drive away). The airport is easily accessible via the PLUS highways.

How to get around in Seremban

By car

Driving around Seremban is quite tough during the day with constant streams of busy traffic, but not as bad as Kuala Lumpur or Penang Island due its volume. Road traffic volume increases during the weekends and public holidays as people who work in nearby major cities return. Traffic gets less busy away from the Seremban and Port Dickson toll plazas (towards Seremban 2)and Lake Gardens (Taman Tasik). Roads that should be avoided during peak hour include Jalan Tuanku Antah (primary street to Senawang), Jalan Rasah (primary street to Port Dickson toll plaza), Jalan Sungai Ujong (primary street to Seremban toll plaza) as well as the main city centre itself.

Halal Friendly Walking Tours in Seremban

Seremban is, to a certain extent, pedestrian unfriendly, due to a lack of pedestrian crossings and designated pedestrian paths especially in the Seremban town. There are also few facilities for the disabled. Going on foot is an unpopular means of getting around in Seremban.

How to travel around Seremban on a bicycle ?

For similar reasons, cycling is also an unpopular means of getting around. Cycling is uncomfortable can be dangerous due to the narrow road lanes. Riding bicycles is only recommended for recreational purposes. But neither of the main parks in Seremban, the Lake Gardens (in front of State Assembly building) or the City Park (behind the fire station in Seremban 2), cater to cyclists.
