Eastern Ukraine

The political situation in Eastern Ukraine remains unstable. Fighting between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Russian military-backed separatists in the Donbass region continues as of January 2019. Tourists are unlikely to be the intended targets of violence, unless they travel near the front lines of the war, but many countries have issued warnings to their citizens against all travel to the eastern border regions, particularly around Donetsk and Luhansk.
