Eastern Samar is a province in Eastern Visayas, Philippines, in the eastern part of Samar Island. Being on the east coast and the province boasts spectacular high waves from the Pacific Ocean making it ideal for surfing. Travel to Eastern Samar

By air Cebu Pacific has closed operations at Borongan Airport due to security concern over the runways of the airport. Guiuan Airport is also not operating commercial flights but is open to chartered Flights to private planes operating from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. By land There are buses plying Borongan-Manila route from Cubao, Quezon City. Other means of transportation connect Borongan to Tacloban City and other major towns in the province. Jeepneys are the primary means of transportation from the capital to the outlying towns.

Going in and out of the province is serviced mostly by land transport provided by private van operators.
