In a startling revelation, video footage from a police helicopter has surfaced, providing visual confirmation that an Israeli tank fired upon a house where 13 Israeli captives were killed during the Hamas attack on October 7. The evidence suggests that Israeli forces may have inadvertently caused the deaths of their own citizens during the intense conflict.

The video, obtained by Israel’s 12 News, shows the tank firing shells at a house in Kibbutz Be’eri, owned by Pasi Cohen, where Hamas fighters had reportedly barricaded themselves with Israeli captives. This incident was already known through the testimony of Yasmin Porat, a survivor who managed to escape from the same house.

Yasmin Porat, who had been held captive with others in the same house, had previously testified about the tank firing shells at the building. The newly surfaced video from the police helicopter further corroborates her account.

Following the capture of the house by Hamas fighters and the gathering of captives, the elite Israeli counter-terror force, Yamam, engaged in a firefight with the militants. During this time, Yasmin Porat reportedly inquired with a soldier about the tank shells, expressing concern for the other captives. The soldier reassured her, stating that the shells were intended to take down walls.

Hadas Dagan, the only other surviving captive, revealed that she was hit by shrapnel from the tank shell. Contrary claims from soldiers present in the kibbutz suggested that the tank shot recorded from the helicopter was a warning shot, followed by the tank being hit, and then another tank arriving to fire at the house once more.

Among the victims were 12-year-old twins Liel and Yanai Hetzroni, along with their aunt Ayla, who raised them. Liel’s relatives reportedly held a farewell ceremony for her as there was little left of her body, with only ash and bone fragments remaining.

The video adds to the mounting evidence that Israeli forces may have played a role in the deaths of many Israeli soldiers and civilians during the October 7 Hamas attack. Despite this, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett continues to attribute the blame to Hamas.

The helicopter footage also raises questions about the military’s response on that fateful day. Witnesses reported that hundreds of soldiers and numerous police cars were present outside Kibbutz Be’eri but did not enter to join the ongoing battle. Residents criticized the lack of coordination and command chaos, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

As more evidence emerges, the events of October 7 continue to be a subject of scrutiny, shedding light on the complexities and tragic consequences of the conflict in the region.
